<p><strong>Job Summary:</strong>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>
<p>Due to growth, HonorBridge is recruiting for a Surgical Recovery Coordinator. &nbsp;The surgical recovery coordinator is responsible for all areas of the surgical recovery that include preservation of organs for transplantation and research and recovery of research organs and tissues.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>This is a night shift position that requires (4)12-hour call days a week/weekend.&nbsp;</strong></p>
<p>The ideal candidate is passionate about our Mission, possess an Associate Degree with a concentration in health-related field and has experience in an operating room or clinical environment.&nbsp; RN, LPN, EMT, EMT-P or CST are strongly encouraged to apply.</p>
<p>Individuals for this position, must live within <span style="text-decoration: underline;">30 miles of their designated office location</span> and always remain within 30 miles of office location when on call.&nbsp; Individuals must have the ability to work extended hours with extensive on call responsibilities.&nbsp; Extensive automobile travel within the assigned service area and significant travel in light aircraft is also required.&nbsp;</p>
<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>What you will do:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Performs pulsatile perfusion according to policies and protocols.</li>
<li>Communicates accurate information to the HonorBridge Organ Administrator on Call and to transplant center medical staff.</li>
<li>Monitors pulsatile perfusion equipment in accordance with HonorBridge policies and procedures to ensure safe, proper operation.</li>
<li>Troubleshoot pulsatile perfusion equipment, and takes action to correct deficiencies and notifies HonorBridge Management</li>
<li>Identify renal anatomy and performs minor surgical procedures to ensure proper perfusion of organ</li>
<li>Coordinate recovery of organs outside the DSA.</li>
<li>Communicates with affected transplant center medical staff as indicated</li>
<li>Initiates action and oversees logistics associated with imported organs</li>
<li>Reports all call activity to the AOC as events occur</li>
<li>Appropriately documents import organ activity per HonorBridge policies and procedures and OPTN guidelines.</li>
<li>Provides organ recovery expertise for local organ donors.</li>
<li>Works in conjunction with the Organ Donation Coordinator to oversee the organ recovery process and maximize donation opportunities for research.</li>
<li>Adheres to hospital protocol and works collaboratively with hospital staff.</li>
<li>Follows HonorBridge policy and procedures.</li>
<li>Packs and properly prepares appropriate and necessary medical supplies for surgical recovery of organs</li>
<li>Travels to donor hospital, arriving in ample time to assess OR setting and review processes with hospital staff</li>
<li>Perfuses and packages organs in accordance to OPTN policy</li>
<li>Assists in the organ recovery process as needed, including back table set-up, kidney dissection, and final closure, as directed.</li>
<li>Allocates authorized research organs, tissues, and specimen to appropriate research partners. Assists and/or actively recovers authorized organs, tissues, and specimen for research.</li>
<li>Properly documents clinical activity</li>
<li>Follows HonorBridge policies and procedures related to documentation.</li>
<li>Utilizes electronic monitoring (e.g., pulsatile pump trends) where available and in accordance with policies and procedures.</li>
<li>Submits paperwork in an accurate and timely manner</li>
<li>Actively assists with the HonorBridge quality assurance process</li>
<li>Serves as a resource for pulsatile perfusion and import referrals</li>
<li>Assists with the electronic chart completion process</li>
<li>Maintains clean, safe, and organized HonorBridge lab spaces</li>
<li>Strives to establish and maintain ongoing relationships with all levels of hospital personnel and medical staff on a continual basis</li>
<li>Functions as a Surgical Recovery Coordinator to provide services to hospital partners and transplant centers. The number of weekly call days will vary depending on the need of the department.</li>
<li>Responds to administrative duties to include internal and external communication, projects and QA tasks in a timely manner as defined by HonorBridge leadership.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Physical Requirements:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Lifting and/or carrying &lt; 20 lbs: Greater than 65% of the time</li>
<li>Lifting and/or carrying &lt; 50 lbs: 35%-65% of the time</li>
<li>Lifting and/or carrying &lt; 100 lbs: Less than 35% of the time</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>&nbsp;</strong><strong>What we are looking for:</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Minimum of an Associate’s Degree with a concentration in health-related field or equivalent experience in an operating room or clinical environment required.&nbsp;</li>
<li>Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration: RN, LPN, EMT/EMT-P or CST preferred.</li>
<li>ABTC certification (CTP or CPTC) required within 2 years of eligibility.</li>
<li>Valid state driver’s license required.</li>
<li>Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills</li>
<li>Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology</li>
<li>Ability to analyze and interpret data in high-pressure situations</li>
<li>Knowledge of operating room environment</li>
<li>Experience in form completion and documentation</li>
<li>Must possess the ability to work extended hours and have the flexibility to accommodate the needs of the call schedule.&nbsp;<strong>&nbsp;</strong></li>
