UNOS is heading a stakeholder group urging the FAA to explicitly consider organ transportation as it finalizes its drone regulations. This follows the recent UNOS, NASA, and LifeNet proof-of-concept flight that moved an organ by drone. The ask is for the final rule to leave room for organ delivery use cases rather than treating them as an afterthought.
