Job Description
The Transplant Financial Specialist is responsible for assisting pre and post transplant patients with financial planning for their transplant surgery and future medical needs. Responsibilities include assessing the patients primary and secondary if any insurance coverage and financial situation for transplantation and immunosuppressant drug coverage and ensuring program billing compliance. Attends and actively participates in patient selection committee by providing up to date and accurate input on patient financial clearance for transplantation. Responsible for ensuring that authorization for transplant is documented in the patients record. Communicates with coordinators and case managers to ensure that all team members are knowledgeable of patient financial situation. Works with patients to make insurance changes when needed.
