Transportation Coordinator - Driver DonorConnect is looking for a part-time Transportation Coordinator to join our team. This position is ideal for someone who is a natural delegator, works well independently and collaboratively, has a background in driving or courier services, and is open to working a variety of shifts. This position is for weekend evenings working from 7pm-7am on call for a total of 24 hours each week. DonorConnect is a federally designated nonprofit community service organization dedicated to the recovery of organs, tissues, and eyes for life-saving transplants. As a Transportation Coordinator at DonorConnect, you will play a vital role in our life-saving mission. You will work closely with on-call organ and tissue donation coordinators, providing critical transportation services, including the transport of organ personnel, biological samples, and supplies. Due to the sensitive and time-critical nature of organ donation, strong critical thinking skills and the ability to adapt to changing timelines are essential. You must also be tech-savvy , as the role involves using digital systems for communication, tracking, and documentation. Key responsibilities include: Maintaining a valid driver's license, TSA registration, and other required licenses/certifications Performing fleet maintenance and vehicle upkeep Assists the supervisor with projects and reports as needed Completing all assigned on-call shifts as scheduled If you're dependable, adaptable, and ready to contribute to a meaningful mission, we encourage you to apply. Minimum Qualifications: Training/Education/Certification: High school diploma or equivalent required Chauffeur's license required within 90 days of employment Experience Required: Minimum 5 years of routine driving experience Excellent driving record Previous courier experience preferred Positions with high levels of interpersonal interaction and communication Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Awareness of the fastest routes to hospitals, labs, and airports Awareness of types of transportation needs for DonorConnect tissue and organ cases Defensive driving skills Excellent interpersonal skills Attention to detail Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time Ability to lift up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation Ability to stoop, squat, or bend frequently Exposure to patient elements including communicable diseases, bloodborne pathogens, and other common hazards of a clinical setting Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions, to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing DonorConnect is a PROUD Equal Opportunity Employer who Values Diversity in Both Experience and Background!
